Die sozialkritischen Stillleben der Vanessa Colareta

Vanessa Colareta wurde durch die Symbolik der "Stillleben des Goldenen Zeitalters Spaniens" inspiriert, die hybriden sozialen Prozesse von Globalisierung und Migration fotografisch aufzugreifen. Die Idee ihrer Serien "Migrant" und "Exodus" entstand aus dem Einfluss mehrerer Faktoren: ihrer persönlichen Erfahrungen als Einwanderin, als Frau und als Kind ihrer Gesellschaft. Vanessa Colareta betont in ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit immer wieder die Rolle der Frau: "Ich beschloss, mich auf die Probleme von Frauen zu konzentrieren, die als Einwanderinnen mit schlechteren Arbeitsbedingungen und niedrigeren Löhnen als Männer leben müssen."

Das Stillleben als typische Sachfotografie verweist direkt auf das symbolische Potential seiner Objekte. Diese Objekte spiegeln unsere Beziehung zur Welt wider, durch die es möglich ist, einen bestimmten Lebensstil oder eine Gesellschaft zu skizzieren. Die alltäglichen Objekte transportieren bei Colareta eine vielschichtige soziale und politische Botschaft mit einer gut gewürzten Portion Irritation.
